QA Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work Re-Qualification

What’s It About?

This two day first aid at work requalification course will update and refresh your employees’ knowledge of the first aid at work syllabus, while allowing time for revision and practice sessions in preparation for a written assessment.

Who Should Attend?

This course is perfect for those employees who currently hold a valid first aid at work certificate that is close to expiry and requires requalification.

Why Is It Important?

Having designated qualified first aiders in the workplace is a legal requirement. The Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 state that employers should provide adequate and appropriate equipment and enough trained first aiders to help injured or ill staff.

Although accidents can be prevented, they can still occur so it’s important to be prepared. Having adequately trained first aid personnel onsite will ensure that if an emergency situation does arise, it will be dealt with in a prompt and effective manner.

A first aid at work qualification is only valid for three years and before it expires you have a legal obligation to ensure that your employees renew this qualification.  If you don’t, then you are putting everyone involved in your business at risk: your employees, your customers and your visitors.

On average, it takes 8 minutes for an ambulance to arrive; the actions that are taken during those eight minutes are critical.

How would you and your staff feel if you just had to stand back and watch, helpless because you didn’t have the first aid knowledge and skills to make a difference?

And how would you feel if you had to tell someone’s family that their loved one died because no one in your business knew what to do?

What Will You Gain?

By attending this first aid at work requalification course, your employees will update their first aid knowledge, skills and qualification.

On returning to the workplace, they will have a renewed confidence to react quickly in response to any type of incident.

They will have refreshed their knowledge of the different types of injuries and illnesses that may occur in the workplace and will know what to do and how to treat them.
